That's me, at Cape Canaveral, Florida, in the spring of 1973, with a Saturn V rocket (topped by the Skylab space station) on the launch pad in the distance. The Space Program was still young and a big deal to elementary school kids like me. I have been launching rockets of desire ever since (whether I knew it or not) . Photo credit: Ruth Dorrwachter.
