"Cold Spring" is a song that germinated in the early spring of 2021 when I was strolling the grounds of the historic Eustis Estate in Canton, MA with my Holga camera, looking to capture some double exposures of the blossoms. I was gazing up into the trees, in a trance, when I felt that I was slipping through a portal, in a state of grace. The rest of the song unfurled over the course of two magical weeks, and to me, is layered with meaning, both for a deep appreciation of earth's faithful renewal and for its allusion to the awakening of new love.
